The Leavenworth Interfaith Community Shelter is located at 3rd & Kiowa in Leavenworth. They moved into their new facility that houses the new Shelter of Hope, and a Day Center, as well as a new location for Welcome Central all in one location. The Leavenworth Interfaith Shelter is in need of volunteers to cover shifts at the shelter. They are in need of 2-3 people to cover shifts primarily overnight, but some daytime shifts need help as well. Welcome Central is also located at 3rd & Kiowa St. in Leavenworth, KS. For several years now a broad base of Leavenworth citizens have helped members of the community who are faced with crises: finding a place to live; preparing for the job market; searching for employment; navigating government bureaucracies; getting to appointments; finding medical care. Their goal has always been to help them achieve independence and a better quality of life.
